Princess Grace is 2 weeks old!

Now that Grace is almost 2 weeks old we've learned a little bit more about her personality. Let me just say that Grace is amazing, she lives up to "Amazing Grace". Grace is very relaxed, maybe relaxed is the wrong word, Grace is peaceful. She is more than happy to sleep through her brothers SCREAMING, fighting, and jumping all over her. She's a really good sport when they kiss, hug, basically maul her. She HATES getting her diaper changed. Few things phase her... but getting her diaper changed, yep she hates that every time. And baths, basically any time she has to get unwrapped or undressed she screams. And by screams I mean it sounds like someone is hurting her... as soon as her pants and blankets are back on she is silent. She is a great sleeper. I hope I didn't just jinx that. She sleeps about 3 hours at a time during this night which is pretty great, and best of all she is willing to do most of that in her OWN bed. I know this may be normal for lots of families but as Michael never slept and Zach slept great but only in our bed this is a big deal! We've had some nights where I've held her in the rocking chair for extended periods of time, and some nights where she spent part of the time with us, but for the most part she sleeps in her tiny bed next to us. She is really sweet and snuggly. She LOVES to be held, she is pretty ok with anyone holding her- we will see if this continues. She's a fan of the pacifier- thank goodness. I know Zach has had his too long, but let's be real, no one goes to college with a pacifier so I'm glad they both have loved them. She make hilarious faces when she's sleeping! It's just funny to watch her expressions. She's constantly trying to wiggle her arms free, if for some reason she can't get them out of the swaddle, she will wiggle them out of her clothing. She really likes to have her hands up around her face.

We are so glad that Grace is part of our family, Michael told me the other day "Mom it's nice that we have our whole family together now", I agree, it's nice we have the final member of our family here with us! I love to see her with her dad and brothers, I think it's safe to say that she is going to have these three wrapped around her finger pretty soon.

 Oh what someone can sleep in their own bed! I love that this blue blanket was used by all three of the kids, and yes she has her own girl blankets.
 She likes the vibrating chair  just like Zach did.

Merry Christmas!

We are planning on having a very exciting Christmas at our house this year. We are super excited to announce (to all three people that read this that have already been told) that we are expecting another baby! Yay, the due date is December 22nd, so it is possible that we will actually have a very exciting Christmas, though in all honesty I am hoping for something more around the 16th than 25th.  We had an ultrasound today, and a few things. First off, I think this kid is going to give his/her older brother a run for his money. The ultrasound tech told us this was the most active baby she had ever seen, my response was pretty much, well you should have seen Michael 2 years ago. The baby is healthy, but... crazy. She had such a hard time taking measurements with all the flipping, flailing, and somersaulting. Baby Zach is Here!

Baby Zach is here! Zachary Henry December 16, 2013 8:41am 6lbs 14oz 20.5 inches Sweet guy, he seems so tiny compared to Michael, and so so tiny compared to how big Michael is now. I think he looks a little bit like Michael, especially his mouth. He has less hair and his eyelashes are lighter, but he is still adorable. I know he has the newborn grey eyes for now, but they look lighter than the pictures of Michael at the same age. I am curious to see what he ends up looking like in a few weeks! The three boys. I can't believe we have two boys! We have to have one token labor picture. And as there is only one this is the one that gets posted. More on the labor later, but let's just say I wasn't loving life at this moment, waiting for the doctor to arrive was the longest half hour of my life, but we made it so yay!  So these are out of order, but this is Zach right after he was born. Genius Idea

So I have this idea, I think it is brilliant, and I am really hoping someone reads this and 1. tells me someone has already done it and where I can access it, or 2. someone steals my idea and does it close enough to me that again I can access it. Ok so here is the idea, first let me describe the situation. You are a parent with small children and it is a cold/hot/rainy/snowy/windy day/, someone is contagious/your kid fell asleep in the car/your kids are having a meltdown and taking them out of the car and struggling with the 5 point harness might kill both of you and you need milk from the grocery store. Normally you would try and get it at a better time, send a spouse, live without, etc, but you can't because you need milk (or bread or eggs, pick an essential item), so you have an internal debate... am I going to risk it, am I going to pull them out of the car, run in, find the item, wait in line, and come back and struggle to get everyone back in or are we going to live without...
