Happy 9th Anniversary!

We celebrated our 9rh anniversary (yep 9) on May 25th. It was memorial day so we actually celebrated a few days before and spent the day with the boys. Our anniversary fell right in the middle of a month (no really an entire month) of rain down here in Texas. Rain in Texas isn't like rain in some other places. it was really really raining.

Of course these aren't in order. So let's start with the end of the day.

We celebrate our anniversary with a dinner of smoked pork sandwiches and an episode of Helix. Wow that is a ridiculous show. Brian did a great job with the pulled pork! He had to brave the downpour (ok the grill is under the covered porch) and it was great. We made it according to the ATK recipe, instead of buns we used hoecakes... yep authentic.

As I mentioned it was a tad bit rainy. This was our side yard. It started dry (well soggy) and then the flash flood warnings started going off and it looked like this. Our front yard and street were a river, it turns out the drainage works! We lucked out, there were parts of Austin that didn't fair quite as well as we did.
We spent part of the day outside, because by that point the boys had been inside for three weeks. They were loving the puddles and the umbrella and then we got the warning that the tornadoes were coming (for real) so we ran inside and hunkered down in the laundry room. Thank goodness for daniel tiger and you know... the tornado skipping us.

Before the tornado sirens we were outside. The playhouse is fairly waterproof which the boys loved.

 9 years baby!

Zach likes to try and drink the water from puddles. Yep it's not gross at all.

We started the day with a trip to Shipley's donuts. Michael loved the kolaches and zach as always loved the donuts.

He was so excited not to have to sit in the baby seat. And what happened- he's thinning out!!

Michael was so proud of his donut selection.

Look at that cute Mikey face.
