Michael's Octonaut Birthday Party

Michael had his 4th birthday party yesterday. It has been MONTHS in the making. Every time he goes to a party he asks when he can have one and what we will do. He had a lot of very specific requests which we tried (sometimes with limited success) to accommodate.
Michael got to choose the guests (next year maybe he gets to pick fewer kids). He had fun playgroup pals, a few school friends, neighbors, and his best buddy from Dallas.

He loved playing Octonauts in the playhouse with the kids. His friend Tyler came. He is so funny, every time Michael talks about this friend he insists on using his full name, as if he knows another child named Tyler.
 Coop came. Michael was thrilled.

 Cole came too.
Michael ate as many of the toppings as fast as he could.
His fun baseball and playgroup friend Noah came. Noah also loves Octonauts.

Corbett was so confused by the jellyfish
Michael's friend from our old ward in Austin (Emerson) made it. He had a Dusty shirt on, Michael was in awe.

There were other spots available... they just really like sitting all together.
We played pin the patch on Kwazi. some kids were excellent (cheaters).
Our playgroup friends Rowen and Grayson were able to come. They love Octonauts too.

He loved playing Octonauts in the playhouse with the kids.
So we played water balloons and I told a few of his friends to throw them at him, thinking there was no way they would hit him. Yeah they did. Several times. and in the eye. Not my best parenting move.

He did not enjoy that.
 at all.
 Yeah really not at all.

Then we moved to splashing his feet, that was better. But when he was pretty angry for a minute or five.
Zach was there too. He was Zach.
Zach insists on wearing BYU shirts every day.
Michael and his buddy Corbett. These two crack me up. They have some of the funniest conversations. They took the eye patches from the pin the eye patch on Kwazi game.

He got some presents. He was thrilled.

After the party was over our neighbor stayed for dinner. It was a good thing since our grill stopped working and we were making hamburgers. Luckily Brian popped over and grilled at their house. Anyway the kids sat in the boat to eat their treats. It was adorable and hilarious.
