In-N-Out Win
So today was... well not a win day. Let's start by saying that Zach is cutting at least 6 teeth. I think it could be 8, but he chomped down on my hand (breaking the skin) and I didn't try and check again. So he's been screaming since... Friday. And Michael, oh sweet Michael has decided to be really really feisty and mean lately. So there's that. On a normal day totally fine. Add to it the 20 days of rain we have received and the one day of sun (yesterday) and they have cabin fever. So today went fine except that Michael woke up SCREAMING at 6am and never really went back to sleep. Brian went up to get him calmed down and they both were a little bit cross. By 7 both kids were up, by 9 both were yawning and asking for naps, by 10 Michael went to school and Zach went down for a short lived nap. We tried naps after school but somehow bothering your brother is more fun and by 4 they had to be physically restrained from each other. Brian also had to work late, not normally a huge deal but today is wednesday which meant tball practice at 5:30 and swim lessons at 6:30. The trouble with these activities is that Zach likes to go to bed at 6:15. So Michael agreed to skip tball and just go for swim. We had planned to eat one thing for dinner, but in light of the fighting I went with the fast(er) option of breakfast for dinner. I went to help Michael with something (about 2 feet from the eggs on the counter) and Zach pulled all 18 on the floor. Only a few broke, but in the process of cleaning off the floor, the child, and everything he managed to smear, I burned the sausage. I promptly turned off the stove, told Michael we weren't going to swim lessons and we got in the car to go to In-N-Out. We got home (after screaming there and back) cried during dinner, took a shower where blood was shed, brushed teeth with a great deal of screaming, pulled them off each other (Zach was slapping Michael and Michael was kicking Zach in the stomach... yeah) and put them in their respective beds. Both had passed out by 6:29. Not a great day. Whew, well as Mr. Slinger says in Lily's Purple Plastic Purse "Today was a rough day, tomorrow will be better". But the In-N-Out dinner was a win, not as great as the yummy food my sister in law keeps posting from her vacation (man we need to go on a kid free vacation!) but better than eggs scrambled with floor dirt so win overall.
