Summer is seriously the worst

Ok I know I make a post like this every year around this time but let me just say just in case anyone forgot- summer is seriously the worst. For the life of me I cannot understand people that love summer. I mean maybe that might be me if I lived somewhere where 1. summer wasnt roughly the same temperature as the surface of the sun and lasted FOREVER or 2. if I lived somewhere with winter and needed to thaw out. Since winter in Austin is like well... late summer other places I dont like summer. Dont get me wrong it is fun for a few weeks- long days, lots of pool time, warm nights (oh wait that's always), but after that it's just hot. I know some places people stay inside in the winter, in Texas we are the opposite- we stay inside in the summer. I've told my kids on many occasions that is just way too hot to play outside and that they have to come back in. Granted it was over 100 and the humidity was pretty high so your risk of dehydration was definitely there. But really let's get back to the people that love summer- maybe their brains has been fried by the insane weather. Really who wants to wear shorts instead of sweaters and jeans- no one, you have to shave your legs everyday, yep think about how much time you would save wearing pants... just sayin'. And how many times can you really swim? I'd venture to say not as often as you would think, after awhile you realize you're swimmming in recycled pee water... yep it's true. And no school... yeah no I dont like this one. So summer, let's chat, I'm not even asking that you go away entirely, just bring it down, 20 degrees, I mean 35 would be perfect (we are forescast to have a high of 100 today). It's September fall should be in the air, how can I eat pumpkin pie when I am still going to the pool and wearing shorts. It's time to begin the transition to sweaters and heaters, not time to crank up the AC (which I did). Really, the day for popsicles, bbq, and corn on the cob has ended, we will see you again in March, now it is time for the best season of all- Fall!!!

Merry Christmas!

We are planning on having a very exciting Christmas at our house this year. We are super excited to announce (to all three people that read this that have already been told) that we are expecting another baby! Yay, the due date is December 22nd, so it is possible that we will actually have a very exciting Christmas, though in all honesty I am hoping for something more around the 16th than 25th.  We had an ultrasound today, and a few things. First off, I think this kid is going to give his/her older brother a run for his money. The ultrasound tech told us this was the most active baby she had ever seen, my response was pretty much, well you should have seen Michael 2 years ago. The baby is healthy, but... crazy. She had such a hard time taking measurements with all the flipping, flailing, and somersaulting. Baby Zach is Here!

Baby Zach is here! Zachary Henry December 16, 2013 8:41am 6lbs 14oz 20.5 inches Sweet guy, he seems so tiny compared to Michael, and so so tiny compared to how big Michael is now. I think he looks a little bit like Michael, especially his mouth. He has less hair and his eyelashes are lighter, but he is still adorable. I know he has the newborn grey eyes for now, but they look lighter than the pictures of Michael at the same age. I am curious to see what he ends up looking like in a few weeks! The three boys. I can't believe we have two boys! We have to have one token labor picture. And as there is only one this is the one that gets posted. More on the labor later, but let's just say I wasn't loving life at this moment, waiting for the doctor to arrive was the longest half hour of my life, but we made it so yay!  So these are out of order, but this is Zach right after he was born. Genius Idea

So I have this idea, I think it is brilliant, and I am really hoping someone reads this and 1. tells me someone has already done it and where I can access it, or 2. someone steals my idea and does it close enough to me that again I can access it. Ok so here is the idea, first let me describe the situation. You are a parent with small children and it is a cold/hot/rainy/snowy/windy day/, someone is contagious/your kid fell asleep in the car/your kids are having a meltdown and taking them out of the car and struggling with the 5 point harness might kill both of you and you need milk from the grocery store. Normally you would try and get it at a better time, send a spouse, live without, etc, but you can't because you need milk (or bread or eggs, pick an essential item), so you have an internal debate... am I going to risk it, am I going to pull them out of the car, run in, find the item, wait in line, and come back and struggle to get everyone back in or are we going to live without...
