Happy Birthday Sweet Sweet Mikey!
Sweet Sweet Mikey
So I posted about sweet mikey’s birthday but really since
there has been so much vomiting at our house… since, well since easter I am a
bit behind on the blogging in general. In the hope that someday we go back and read
this blog here goes.
Sweet Mikey,
We really could not have asked for sweeter kid. During conference this year
someone said that a child that sings is a happy child, and I can verify that is
true. Mikey sings all day every day. Since his stuttering started he has been
singing less, and that has been very sad, but tonight he was in full swing
again, finally passing out during the 5th or 6th verse of
Book of Mormon stories. His life is like a Broadway musical, he has a song for
everything, and always always can come up with a song to sing. He knows all the
words to “I am a Child of God”, “If the Savior Stood Beside Me”, “Teach Me to Walk in the Light”, “Give Said
the Little Stream” and so many others I can no longer keep track. He also so
loves to play this game while singing where he tells you to sing LOUD and then
sing quietly, not sure what he loves about it but he thinks it is so funny.
He loves his daddy, no scratch that, he absolutely adores
his daddy. There are few things that make him light up like that. When daddy is
home he wants nothing to do with me, he wants to follow daddy around and be
with him every second.
He loves to read. He has many of his favorite books…
memorized at this point. Current favorites include: the Bear series by Karma
Wilson, Pete the Cat, No More Jumping on the Bed, and all of the transportation
books by Ant Parker? (Dazzling Diggers, Tremendous Tractors, Roaring Rockets,
etc). He always asks for “one more story” and is willing to sit for hours, no
really if you are willing to sit and read to him.
He loves his sandbox, really it is the best $70 we ever
spent. He will spend all day out there if given the opportunity, even in the
blazing Texas sun. He says he is “digging dino bones”. He also loves the pool.
He is so brave, he jumps in, swims around, really the floatie has made life at
the pool so delightful!
TV… he loves TV. Yeah not great, but he does. He loves Thomas
the Train, Dino Train, and Super Why. Really I think he is happy as long as the
TV is on but we try to limit it. He is awesome at iPhone games, and informs me
daily that my phone is “MIkey’s phone”. He can quickly navigate to Netflix (bad),
and can select his own games… bad.
He loves to play balls, kick them, throw them, golf, pretty sure he got that from his dad and not me.
He isn’t the best eater, but LOVES mashed potatoes, will eat
grilled chicken, and on occasion will consider eating other food.
He talks up a storm. Sadly, stuttering has hindered that a
bit lately but he uses full sentences and says things like “I defininetly need
____”.
He loves the library and running errands. He gets ansty if
we are home to long. He wants to ride on an airplane (again) so bad.
He loves to video chat with Grammy, Poppy, O Muggle, Bardy,
and “my Emmy”.
He chases CJ… um.. pretty much all day.
He hates naps (still), loves baths, and can handle it when
his finger nails get even a bit long.
He loves church, and asks us to read him scriptures.
He carries his Thomas the Train and Percy around pretty much
all the time. He sleeps with his plastic diggers, loves his truck room, and his
white stool.
He loves to be a “big helper” with everything from laundry
to cooking dinner.
He tells me he wants to be a pediatrician and when he grows
up that he wants to go to BYU.
He loves any music related thing, especially marching in a
marching band, and if he could finger paint all day pretty sure he would.
We love you sweet Mikey, we couldn’t imagine life without you!

Gosh, he's so cute, and so smart! I'm glad you found some time to enjoy his birthday amid sickness. Hope you all feel better soon...
