A Quick Trip to the Arboretum

While my parents were here we made a quick trip to one of our favorite places here in Dallas... the Arboretum! We took tons of photos... almost all of which were... well bad. Michael is at the age where he isn't thrilled to have his picture have taken, no scratch that, sometimes he is fine with it but he refuses to look at the camera... or when he does he says cheese (no idea where he learned that) and makes an awful face. So we are took lots of pictures, only 3 are being posted today. And he is only facing the right direction in one.

We had a great time at the Arboretum. If you have the chance to go and haven't yet- GO! The children's garden just opened and it makes the whole experience more fun. Michael loves the celery slide, the maze, and the first garden. He is also thrilled just to run and explore the rest of the Arboretum, we renewed our pass for a second year- last year it was totally worth it. Grammy and Poppy, especially Poppy, love the Arboretum so every time they come to visit, even when it is 100 degrees outside we head over there.

the log tunnel in the first garden. He thought this was such a funny thing. not sure why but he loved it.

We made it to the Arboretum during the pumpkin village days. The pumpkin village was beautiful, so creative. Mikey loved the pumpkins, and we have been so lucky to make it there 2 or 3 times this season.  Don't you love this photo, there is actually not much good about it, but we took one together so we are counting it as a win.
Ok so I sorta love this photo. Everyone is genuinely happy in the photo, no one is actually looking, posed, matching, etc but it is cute, and this is pretty much how their visits with Mikey go. They wait on him... a lot. I am not sure he is going to be able to share his grandparents with his brother, let alone any future cousins that come around. but he enjoyed this last "alone" visit with them.
