4 months

My Zach attack is 4 months old, once again I am late writing this, but better late than never.

Stats:
Weight: 17lbs, 12oz (90th percentile)
Height: 26 inches (78th percentile)
Head Circumference: 41.6 centimeters (30th percentile)
Here is the link to michael's stats- he's just a little bit shorter and rounder than his brother at this age

-during his 4th month of life Zachary discovered his voice, and boy oh boy does he use it. In a family where people like to talk as much as we do you have to learn early. Dinnertime at our house is… loud. He likes to look directly in your eyes and just chat away. I love it, it is just so sweet. He prefers you participate in the conversation.

-Zach rolled over! He has done it a few time, but he needs some excellent motivation, like his brother having a screaming meltdown fit.

-He can sleep almost through the night (8pm-4am) but decided about halfway through his 4th month that is no longer important. It is important little friend think again. We are working on this again…

-he sleeps [insert hallelujah chorus]. Yes he has started to wake up again, but he naps, and he goes down to bed fairly easily. Oh sweet buddy thank you thank you for sleeping! 9:30am and 1:30pm are nap time, if he isn’t in his bed he is crying to be there.

-he likes his name (or the variations we choose to call him). He particularly likes it when you look at him and say “Zach-O”.

-he discovered toys, yay!

-fingers must be in the mouth at all times.

-He likes his pacifier (again the hallelujah chorus).

-he is still in love with his grammy blanket, though we are tryhing to transition to the matching dog tiny version that came with it because I have left the blanket places one too many times and have had to go back.

-he does.not.like.to.be.hot. No he really doesn’t. He screams until his clothes are removed and he is cooled down.

-when he wakes up in my bed he is smiley. Just happy he won that fight (he usually arrives sometime while Brian gets ready in the morning).

-he still loves to snuggle, what a sweet baby.

-he has the biggest smile, really it is huge, and usually he is so happy and mellow except during church.

-he’s a bit dramatic. Usually he is calm and mellow but he waits until things are just awful (how awful can they be, but roll with it) and then he loses it, he screams and screams, changes colors, cant be consoled, and then… he stops.

-he loves his brother even though Michael is constantly hugging him, wrestling him, and stealing his stuff. Anything he has Michael instantly needs.

-he LOVES baths. He is very calm and then wiggles like crazy with a very purposeful face. He has been known to scream (a lot) when he is removed from the bath.

-he starting to love the Johnny Jump up.

-he giggles, particularly when you move his feet, it’s kinda strange.

-he likes tv, yes I know it is bad and I don’t let him watch it, but during family movie nights he has been known to try and turn himself in a way that he too can see Frozen/Cars/Planes… not good.

-he likes to sit in his high chair while we eat dinner, just to be on our level and chat.

-he is probably the chunkiest roly poly baby I have ever seen, so yeah we’ve figured out nursing….  He’s in the 90th percentile which means there are kids bigger than him, just a few but I don’t believe it. I tell Brian we are raising giants, i just don't know how this happened we aren't giants!

Zach learned to play this month. He loves he "park" and Michael thinks he must either watch him (rarely happens) or play in the park with him while pushing him out of the way (usually happens).
see michael is in the park

zach is always on alert about where his brother is. if your brother loved you as much as his loves him you would also always be on high alert.

sometimes he's a grump.
one of the rare instances where they both played on the floor and no one got squished.
sweet zach

sweet smile, yes he is a chubby baby
I love mach's expression, a cross between "why the heck should this be fun" and "what is wrong with you big brother?"
now it's just "what's wrong with you big brother?"
and "get away from me"
hands must always be in mouth
or blanket, or pacifier, or michael's hands (probably the most disgusting possible option)
awww...
look at those sweet brown eyes. someone told me the other day that my boys had my eyes, I had to laugh out loud. I know it is rude, but really? they had black eyes and i have green eyes, not even close. but i'll take it.
boys and daddy.
everyone was ready for a bike ride (and mommy needed to clean the camera lens).
grammy and poppy!

yes they are first cousins, and yes zach is the younger one...
zach punching everyone.

worried zach

grandma mary and grandpa randy and the two youngest grandkids...
poppy and his little boys.
zach loved to chat with grammy and poppy, probably because they liked to listen.
see he had a lot to say

zach being shoved out of his own park
and the drooling has started
bear suit.
flowers and the bouncy chair
accidental matching!
more conversations with poppy.

and more.
discussing michael's cool plane. there is a video that goes with it but they were both making very excited sounds about ishani
boys in their grammy comfies. notice that mach's have fuzzy bunnies, sad you can't see but they also have a tail.

  1. Sweet boys. You know, Emma was 17 lbs. when she was two... I guess you don't have to worry about helping him gain weight!
