Harry Potter and Slytherin Zach

By Ashley -

Michael got a giant box of Perler beads this week. They are supposed to help him keep up with his fine motor skills over summer... oh and provide him with a quiet activity. So far they are a new way for him to order me around, but maybe that will change. By the way, I am convince everyone's hands are too chubby for these things! Seriously how is a child supposed to do this. We've made a few things, but these are our latest creations- Harry Potter Michael (complete with red scar) and Slytherin Zach. Michael also has a pretty sweet Gryfindor badge that we made yesterday... and I am supposed to make Zach a matching Slytherin badge tonight. I was informed that I also need to make Grace, Brian, me, and of course Mr. and Mrs. Maxi. I'm fairly certain that won't be happening, but way to be imaginative kids!

Merry Christmas!

We are planning on having a very exciting Christmas at our house this year. We are super excited to announce (to all three people that read this that have already been told) that we are expecting another baby! Yay, the due date is December 22nd, so it is possible that we will actually have a very exciting Christmas, though in all honesty I am hoping for something more around the 16th than 25th.  We had an ultrasound today, and a few things. First off, I think this kid is going to give his/her older brother a run for his money. The ultrasound tech told us this was the most active baby she had ever seen, my response was pretty much, well you should have seen Michael 2 years ago. The baby is healthy, but... crazy. She had such a hard time taking measurements with all the flipping, flailing, and somersaulting. Pretty sure this kid is going to have to be so crazy to keep up with Mikey, but pretty sure that 2 years from now I am going to be exhausted. Even though it is a little b...

Baby Zach is Here!

Baby Zach is here! Zachary Henry December 16, 2013 8:41am 6lbs 14oz 20.5 inches Sweet guy, he seems so tiny compared to Michael, and so so tiny compared to how big Michael is now. I think he looks a little bit like Michael, especially his mouth. He has less hair and his eyelashes are lighter, but he is still adorable. I know he has the newborn grey eyes for now, but they look lighter than the pictures of Michael at the same age. I am curious to see what he ends up looking like in a few weeks! The three boys. I can't believe we have two boys! We have to have one token labor picture. And as there is only one this is the one that gets posted. More on the labor later, but let's just say I wasn't loving life at this moment, waiting for the doctor to arrive was the longest half hour of my life, but we made it so yay!  So these are out of order, but this is Zach right after he was born. He was very quiet. He cried initially, but after a minute he calme...

Genius Idea

By Ashley -
So I have this idea, I think it is brilliant, and I am really hoping someone reads this and 1. tells me someone has already done it and where I can access it, or 2. someone steals my idea and does it close enough to me that again I can access it. Ok so here is the idea, first let me describe the situation. You are a parent with small children and it is a cold/hot/rainy/snowy/windy day/, someone is contagious/your kid fell asleep in the car/your kids are having a meltdown and taking them out of the car and struggling with the 5 point harness might kill both of you and you need milk from the grocery store. Normally you would try and get it at a better time, send a spouse, live without, etc, but you can't because you need milk (or bread or eggs, pick an essential item), so you have an internal debate... am I going to risk it, am I going to pull them out of the car, run in, find the item, wait in line, and come back and struggle to get everyone back in or are we going to live without...
