Brian's Birthday

So yesterday was Brian's big day, 29... next year he goes over the hill, but not yet, so we celebrated. We celebrated with our usual Brian birthday tradition of filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and Brian's veggie of choice (this year we went with roasted squash, onions, and red and gold peppers). Seriously if you are looking to have a yummy steak dinner and want a good cut of meat, but dont want to pay a ton, and are willing to put in a little bit of effort we HIGHLY recommend going to Costco and buying their filets. Certain times of year they have prime filets, we havent ever bought those, but their usual (choice) filets are great, really, for $30 you can get 4 good sized filets, cook your own potatoes and veggies and you have an awesome dinner for 4 for less than $40, I have a great recipe if you need it. In our case it ends up being 2 special meals (we freeze 2), but enough on that tangent.

Ok so we had the traditional meal, and yes that is a pat of butter on the extra large steak... yes the butter does make it better, really try it- steakhouses do it too friend.
Yesterday was Brian's last day at PwC, so this birthday celebration was also a congratulations on leaving public accounting celebration! PwC gave him a cheesy alumni paperweight... yeah we had to document it, cause that is going in a special place. We also had to have some sparkling cider, mostly cause it is so yummy. Happy birthday and congratulations brian!
Mikey enjoyed dinner too, though I am pretty sure all he had was mashed potatoes and hummus, this kid cant get enough hummus.

After our yummy dinner we went to the park. Not sure this is how Brian wanted to celebrate his 29th birthday, but Mikey was in charge so we went. Mikey loved having Daddy at the park with him.

They went down the slide, and sadly I didnt take a video, but he was waving hi.
 "Hi mom!"
He went up and down the stairs, not sure why that was more fun than the slide but it was.

We asked Michael if he wanted to go home to eat brownies (yeah you watched the video) and he wasnt thrilled about going. He loved helping make the  brownies, and eating the andes mints before I put them in the batter, but he wasnt thrilled about actually eating them. Pretty sure this kid would rather have hummus than brownies.

Happy Birthday Bri, we hope your day was great (or goodish). We love you, congratulations on leaving public accounting and turning 29! We love you!
