Happy Birthday Bri and birthday prep
Making a happy birthday sign for daddy.
doesnt that serious face look like bri?
seriously, mini brian
couldnt color without the digger
Tomorrow is Brian’s birthday. It is also his last day at
PwC. So I would say that tomorrow is a big(ish) day for him. In honor of his
big day, Mikey and I have started planning. We made an awesome sign (to be unveiled tomorrow and we have been practicing singing happy birthday.
Okay the planning is minimal
because he is turning 29, but as our tradition Brian has requested filet mignon
(from Costco, seriously Grandma and Grandpa Suker we cannot thank you enough
for this tip!), whipped potatoes (Grandma Suker style), and roasted veggies
(this is new), with brownie sundaes for dessert (also new). We are excited for
our yummy dinner, and even more exciting than the dinner, Brian has 4 days
(working days) off before he starts his new job, so we get to have some time with
him before he gets busy at the new job.
I looked back at past birthday posts, and shockingly we did almost the same thing every year... 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009
Also in honor of his big day here are 29 great things about
him
1.
he is a great dad
2.
he knows all the words to lots of songs, and is
willing to sing lots and lots of songs at bedtime (Mikey)
3.
he is willing to take Mikey out to see
“diggers”, something Mommy wouldn’t ever do
4.
he likes (or is willing) to play “ride ‘em
horsey” even after a long week
5.
he can change even the worst diapers with
limited complaining
6.
he makes fluffy scrambled eggs
7.
he shares his yummy treats like sushi and ice
cream with Mikey
8.
he likes to watch train shows too
9.
he is a great toy during sacrament meeting,
cause when you are 20 months old paying attention is rough stuff
10. he
doesn’t mind driving a sweet minivan and is willing to drive most of the time
11. he
doesn’t complain when dinner is sub par at best (which sadly happens more than
you would think).

“likes” to play in the sand

doesn’t mind spending his days off at the park, the grocery store, or whatever
other errand we need to run

16. he
works hard at his job and is a superstar! Just part of being awesome
17. he
doesn’t steal the covers
18. he
agrees that I always need another pair of jeans ;)
19. he
is totally ok with a quiet night in instead of a crazy night out
20. he
cleans out the kitty box even though I am the one that wanted the cat
21. he
takes out the trash, usually without being asked, and after almost 7 years he
remembers to put a new bag in (thus completing the job) 75% of the time
22. he
let’s me keep all the coconut popsicles to myself
23. he
always takes the second shower on Saturday mornings (which I am sure is a bit
chilly)

yourself into or so you can just skip them all together
27. he
usually goes along with my hairbrained craft ideas instead of saying, "no no, that is insane please dont hot glue that"
28. he
is willing to spend most holidays and vacations with his in-laws, I think he
needs an award for this one
29. he is awesome, hard working, kind, and basically just great. We love you bri!
Seriously, birthday traditions are the best. Happy Birthday Brian! We can't wait to sing to you tomorrow!! BTW your little Mikey knows a good color on you... you look darling and super happy! I think color is good for you. Your a mom now, you need a festive holiday shirt for all the holidays now! Your on your way to becoming a "real mom!" Welcome. It's a crazy ride!
