What to do... What to do?
So as I mentioned previously, Brian got a new job! We were thrilled when he got to offer. This is what we had been praying for: a job he was interested in, that continued to stretch his professional skills, had room for upward mobility, and paid well enough that we could... you know continue to eat. The job he got was awesome, it was more than we had hoped for, and we were thrilled. Okay that sounds like the job is in the past, he started on Thursday, and so far he likes it (you know all 2 days). So far this seems awesome, and we are going to ride this out, we are excited for this new adventure. But with this new job came with one little issue, we live a bit far from his office. When he was at PwC proximity to his job wasnt as important, he changed clients regularly and we could never be 100% sure that he wasnt going to be at a client right by us (never happened, but we couldnt be sure). But this new job... well the new job requires him to go to the same place each day, which is awesome, but not so awesome when he works 44.5 miles from home. So it is time to think about moving.
There are is a part of me that is thrilled to think about moving. We knew that we wouldnt stay in this house forever. This house was meant to be our starter home, and it was. We graduated from college and moved right in, we had our first child here, so many firsts, but now... well now it seems like it is time to think about leaving. It is exciting to think that we might be moving on the a new phase of life, it is exciting to think about what lies ahead of us. But there is another part that is scary, and still another part that is sad. When we moved from Wymount it was also sad and scary. It was sad to be done with that phase of life. Sad to be leaving the only home we had ever shared, sad to be leaving friends and family. And scary because we were becoming grown ups, scary because we were leaving the familiar and embracing the unfamiliar- throwing ourselves to the wolves even. Now I have the same thoughts. I am sad to think that we might leave the home be brought Mikey home to, sad to think that the house we have raised our son in might belong to another family, sad to think that the home that we were so excited about might not be ours forever. I am sad to think that we might leave our friends here. We have great friends, and a fabulous ward, and to think about leaving them is horribly sad. I am scared to think about selling our house, will it sell? will we get a reasonable price fore it, will we know how to sell it, etc? Oh so many thoughts and emotions!
Now we are trying to decide when and where to move. Right now we are in a holding pattern, havent decided on either one, havent had much luck looking at houses, and havent gotten up the courage to even contact a realtor. So we need advice, encouragement, and for all our friends and our ward to move wherever we go, cause if we leave our lovely neighborhood and home, not sure we can leave all the people too.

We felt the same as we built our home. As much as I don't want to say it, there will be wonderful people wherever you decide to go. PS--I know a realtor...
ReplyDeleteI wish I had ANY advice or even any experience in selling/moving. I wish I could house shop with you though, that would be the FUN part!!!
