Outnumbered and Honey Badgers

There are jus a few shows out there that Brian and I like to watch together. We havent had cable in almost 9 years so I couldn't tell you where to actually find them except to look on hulu. We found a british show called "outnumbered". It's on hulu, not hulu plus, so it is totally free. But it is the hilarious story of a family with three young children and just their daily life. I think I wrote about it before, but just in case there it is. There are lines that will make parents of young children just cringe, things the kids say, things the parents say, things you can imagine happening in your own life. It is just painfully funny.

That brings me to my next story. Michael recently started attending preschool at the local Methodist Church. As part of their weekly activities they have a short "chapel" time on Thursday mornings were the pastor visits and chats with the kids. He sings a few songs (most of which Michael knows from church) and tells them a bible story. There are about 40 kids ages 1-5 so it is light, short, and surface level. Anyway last week was the first week they went and Michael said they sang a song about God having the "whole world" in his hand (I'm sure you are familiar with it). At some point Pastor Pete (yes) asked the kids to name what they thought was in God's hands and Michael of course said "honey badgers". Keep in mind I didn't actually attend this event this is just what Michael told me later. Michael is fascinated by honey badgers, if you aren't familiar with them there is a truly horrifying documentary on netflix that you can watch. Suffice it to say that honey badgers or tencious, ferocious, and destructive, they fight lions... So Michael is fascinated by them, they are his current favorite animal. He tells Pastor Pete that God has honey badgers in his hands, then he goes on to tell him that isn't true because a honey badger is ferocious and would slash your face so if God tried to hold a honey badger it would just slash his face and he would have to drop it... awesome... way to make a good impression Michael.
