Taking the plunge, well maybe not

I have wanted to be a Mommy Blogger for awhile. Well actually when I was a kid I wanted to be Andy Rooney or Anna Quindlen, but over time that dream morphed into a Mommy Blogger. I wish I had hilarious anecdotes to share, advice to give, and just general awesomeness to spew into the blogosphere...but I don't. I'm not funny, I don't do cool things, and my talents are pretty limited (though I am AWESOME at keeping at tight schedule). I am sarcastic, introverted, and well basically I'm a Hufflepuff. But I've decided it's time. It's time to start a blog that pretty much no one will ever read (even fewer readers than this blog), but it's time to say that I did it. So I did it. And it's terrible, but I did it. And maybe I will keep it up, and most likely I won't, but I took the first step. I even submitted a few (not posted) snippets to several mommy blogs. The likelihood that anything will ever get published is slim, but I DID IT! Cross that one off the bucket list my friends, at the ripe old age of 31 I tried (and failed), but tried.

I will obviously keep up this amazing blog (because we are what 9 years in if you combine this one with Ramblings, Recipes, and Rants). But here's to trying new things just because you can, and life is about growing, and learning, and trying...even if you're 31 and old.

Merry Christmas!

We are planning on having a very exciting Christmas at our house this year. We are super excited to announce (to all three people that read this that have already been told) that we are expecting another baby! Yay, the due date is December 22nd, so it is possible that we will actually have a very exciting Christmas, though in all honesty I am hoping for something more around the 16th than 25th.  We had an ultrasound today, and a few things. First off, I think this kid is going to give his/her older brother a run for his money. The ultrasound tech told us this was the most active baby she had ever seen, my response was pretty much, well you should have seen Michael 2 years ago. The baby is healthy, but... crazy. She had such a hard time taking measurements with all the flipping, flailing, and somersaulting. Baby Zach is Here!

Baby Zach is here! Zachary Henry December 16, 2013 8:41am 6lbs 14oz 20.5 inches Sweet guy, he seems so tiny compared to Michael, and so so tiny compared to how big Michael is now. I think he looks a little bit like Michael, especially his mouth. He has less hair and his eyelashes are lighter, but he is still adorable. I know he has the newborn grey eyes for now, but they look lighter than the pictures of Michael at the same age. I am curious to see what he ends up looking like in a few weeks! The three boys. I can't believe we have two boys! We have to have one token labor picture. And as there is only one this is the one that gets posted. More on the labor later, but let's just say I wasn't loving life at this moment, waiting for the doctor to arrive was the longest half hour of my life, but we made it so yay!  So these are out of order, but this is Zach right after he was born. Genius Idea

So I have this idea, I think it is brilliant, and I am really hoping someone reads this and 1. tells me someone has already done it and where I can access it, or 2. someone steals my idea and does it close enough to me that again I can access it. Ok so here is the idea, first let me describe the situation. You are a parent with small children and it is a cold/hot/rainy/snowy/windy day/, someone is contagious/your kid fell asleep in the car/your kids are having a meltdown and taking them out of the car and struggling with the 5 point harness might kill both of you and you need milk from the grocery store. Normally you would try and get it at a better time, send a spouse, live without, etc, but you can't because you need milk (or bread or eggs, pick an essential item), so you have an internal debate... am I going to risk it, am I going to pull them out of the car, run in, find the item, wait in line, and come back and struggle to get everyone back in or are we going to live without...
