Merry Christmas!
As usual these photos are not in the correct order, and since it is pretty much a miracle I even uploaded them we aren't going to worry about the order. When I finally print the blog into a book I will just be thrilled the photos made it, or so I tell myself.
So we had christmas. Christmas is my favorite time of year but this year it was a bit overshadowed with Zach, which was a wonderful christmas present.
On christmas morning we had our traditional breakfast pizza, and yes this picture is blurry you don't need to adjust your prescription.
Then we opened presents... for a bit. Presents with a 2 year old takes awhile, at least it does at our house, and maybe he got a few too many presents, we took some out of the pile and saved them for later. Next year we will know better (though I am pretty sure we said the same thing last year).Emily cuddled Zach, this is pretty much how they stayed for her entire visit. Zach loves to be cuddled.
Michael got some stories for christmas and we had to stop and read them. I am so thankful he loves to read!
Emily cuddled Zach.
So on to the santa gift. We decided that every year (finances allowing) santa will bring out kids a "big" gift, this year Michael wanted a racetrack table. At first he wanted a Cranky and two trains for christmas... then his love for Thomas and Friends started to wane, and we moved on to Cars. And then we saw this at costco (i mean santa's workshop). this was awesome. It is a train table but Cars themed and instead of trains there are wooden cars (trains fit too). This was awesome, so this is what santa brought him. He asked for it for months, and luckily Santa ordered online (early) and planned ahead (after returning the previously mentioned Thomas and Friends items). This is much loved let me tell you, I'm sure this is where zach is going to learn to walk because we spend so much time around this table.
He loved it. He was so certain that this is what santa was going to bring him, I'm glad santa was able to pull through and make his dream a reality.
In addition to the wooden track there is a race track around the outer edge that matchbox cars fit... you can have them race fast, this is another favorite pastime.
Santa/Mommy brought Poppy Popcorn, this is a favorite for family movie night, we should probably eat this...
and mommy found an El Chupacobra (however you spell it) from the movie Planes. He liked the cape.
Guess which present is from Mikey for Brian.
Zach's reaction to christmas.
Emily cuddled Zach some more.
look how tan he is! and how tiny he was... no wonder I think he looks like he ate Zach now.
Emily was so nice and made homemade margarita pizza and chopped caprese salad for dinner before going to pick up my parents and brother.
This is where our order fails. These are all from Christmas Eve. See the pretty tree with burnt out lights on the bottom, we just pretend that part isn't there.
We were all there, I look really really tired and sorta ill but we were all there. We decided to have appetizers on christmas eve and we liked it, i think we will have to make it a tradition.Emmy was there too, sad this was probably her last year.
We did not take a good family photo but this pretty much sums up our kids. Zach sleeps and michael does crazy things.
Merry christmas!
We video chatted with my parents in CA. they came for christmas, but not until the next evening.
We opened one present. this one had pjs for everyone, a movie for us to watch together, and an activity to do as a family (puzzle).
He got the Cars movie, this was great since we moved and couldn't borrow it from the library any more.
We made Santa M&M cookies. Michael sampled a few.
Turns out he likes them too.
Grandpa Suker so kindly gave us a Polar Express for under the tree, we had to read the book a lot this holiday season.
we also had to have the train going while we read.
Michael sampled the carrots for the reindeer.
and then he went to bed, and i wished i went to bed.
and emmy cuddled zach
and brian built the table, it was more time consuming than i thought it would be!
